You see, over the past 10 months, I’ve taken down 18 highly profitable STRs (short-term rental properties). It’s a fun way to earn an income. But beyond a certain point you can’t do it alone; you need a small team to help you get things done fast!

It’s right for me, but when you’re just starting out you need to get the first one or two STRs done and working correctly before taking down your third, fourth, fifth and so one. That requires systems.
And that’s why my wife and I now have 18 STRs.
Early on in my new journey I didn’t know what I was doing. Sure, I had spoken with different people who did STRs in various and different ways, but they didn’t do things the way I’m now doing them.
My point is that I learned as I went. I made mistakes. I corrected my path and kept going, growing and learning. Doing a great deal of research helped.
By my sixth STR, I had a pretty good system in place. I knew my customer and what they wanted.[tweet “By my 6th STR I had a pretty good system in place. Wanna learn it?”]
All I had to do was to keep adding to that system, build my team of talented helpers and keep growing my STR business. So that’s what I’ve done. I’m committed to it, which means consistently improving my systems and adding to my knowledge base.
But that’s what life is… Constant and never-ending improvement, which is what we should all be doing every day of our lives.

Listen, before I learned of this STR strategy I had been looking for something that would work in real estate entrepreneurship where I live. That’s southern California, BTW. Translated, that means anything I do here in real estate has to turn a pretty penny before it’s something I can consider doing.
The cost of living is pretty high here in southern California. Rents are high; mortgages are high; everything costs a lot.
So when I saw the potential revenue that could be created with an STR strategy I was all over it. I wanted to learn all I could before pushing the go button.[tweet “When I learned about the STR strategy I became a man obsessed.”]
People must have thought I was a man obsessed. Truth is that I was. I still am. What’s not to be obsessed about when you can earn a killer income with a proven strategy in real estate?
If you’ve been following me for any length of time over the past 10 months I don’t really have to say any of that to you. It’s pretty obvious that I’m still excited about what my wife and I are doing. And about what’s to come.
My goal is to have 50 STRs by the end of 2017. The cool thing is that we are almost to the half-way mark!

My wife and I did the first couple of STRs by ourselves and let the kids help. That was fun. Then we started getting help. You can do exactly what we did. You just have to be bold enough to take your first steps.

Even seasoned investors can make mistakes, but they don’t let mistakes hold them back or stop them from moving toward their goals. That’s the mindset you need to embrace so you can reach the success you desire!
Keep putting one foot in front of the other…
Because I have young kids, what comes to mind when I say these words to you is… “Put one foot in front of the other, and soon you’ll be walking out the door!” It’s a line from a kid’s movie, but it’s right. So right.
It’s like that for everything new that you do. Everything you start learning, including my STR strategy. You learn the first steps… then the next… then the next.[tweet “When learning something new, you just keep putting one foot in front of the other!”]
There’s plenty of room for you to do what I’m doing, even here in sunny southern California. The strategy works in a whole lotta places! (Not all, but a great many.)
You just have to learn the systems and how to create something that has the potential of giving you $16,000+ a month in income. Sounds pretty good, huh?
