Now I said the word sales and that could be a four-letter word to some of you, right now.
Here’s the thing I don’t want you to be afraid.
In fact, you’re actually not afraid of sales. It’s not selling that you don’t like. Everyone loves to sell because sales equals service and many of you love to help other people IE serve them.
Here’s the thing you don’t want to be treated like a salesperson though you want someone who is a person who happens to sell stuff and that’s exactly what you want to be. And there’s a very fine distinct art form and secret that I’m going to let you in on that gives you the ability to become successful at sales it actually only requires one major skill and here it is.
You and I must become better listeners.
The more we listened the more we hear exactly how to solve someone else’s problems in order to listen though you must become excellent at asking questions. and you learn to obey what I call the 70/30 rule.
What does that simply mean it means your prospect your customer your client your patient whatever you call them they talk 70% of the time. If they’re doing the majority of the talking and explaining their issue you can understand where they’re coming from and as you seek to understand and not to be understood what tends to happen is you develop much better relationships with the individuals you’re looking to serve with your product or service in the first place.
And when someone knows that you care when someone knows that you are listening when someone knows that you understand their problems, better than you do man you know what will happen you’ll get the sale thanks for watching.
