Hi, Jay Massey with the CashFlowDiary.com with another quick tip about real estate and business.

Today we’re going to talk about fear and greed.

Have you ever wondered why it’s so challenging for you to take the first step when it comes to starting a business or being able to become an investor? Have you ever wondered what happens to you once you’ve finally become that business owner or investor? Why it’s sometimes so challenging to sell?

As a business owner or investor, you’re always dealing with two emotions. On the buying side you’re typically dealing with fear. What if all these things don’t happen the way that I plan it? What if it all goes badly? What if I lose all my money? What if people laugh at me? You could “what if” yourself right out of your best idea.

Once you finally get up the courage and actually take that first step, you ever notice how you begin to deal with greed going, “Man, this is so valuable.

We should charge more. You know what? Don’t sell that stock just yet. Let’s see if it goes up another dollar.

You know what? This is what I’ll do. I’ll wait until the real estate prices come back, then I’ll sell.”

We end up at all kinds of weird situations. One of the ways that you can avoid this and most importantly develop the skill sets of a successful business owner and investor is to be able to become disciplined.

Simply on entry understand what your exit is. More importantly, be very, very clear as to why you’re doing it in the first place. I find that most of the time if we stick to and understand why we’re doing something in the first place, it makes it very, very easy for us to feel like we’re living out our purpose, living out our values.

Therefore, fear tends to take a back seat. You can go out there and begin to fulfill your mission. For some, it’s a mission in life.
