4+ Free Expert Advices: How to Benefit from Private Coaching Without the One-On-One Price Tag

Hands down, nothing beats the experience of working with a professional mentor and private coach. The next best thing is to participate in a mastermind group with limited seats so you can still work very closely with a mentor and likeminded individuals who share your enthusiasm for what you are learning. But what if neither of those options fits into your current budget? It’s not a road block! It just means you have to find a way around the challenge.

Money is NEVER the problem. Changing your mindset and finding no- or low-cost options to help you build your skill sets can put you way ahead of the game.

If you have a smart phone, you can have a mentor in your pocket 24/7!

Here are a few things you can do RIGHT NOW to find great mentors for little to no money and benefit from all the great information they have to share with you…

  1. Join groups online – If you’re not a member of LinkedIn, you should be. The site provides massive networking opportunities. You can interact with both peers and mentors. They are relatively easy to find on LinkedIn. Just browse for groups of interest to you that match your professional and life goals. Some groups require vetting (they have to approve you) and some don’t.  Once you’re a member, you get to ask questions, interact with other members, get feedback on your ideas and learn from those who have more experience than you do.LinkedIn is just one professional social media site. There are groups on Facebook, Twitter and many other sites, too. Explore them all and see which ones fit your needs.(NOTE: While you can request to link with individuals on LinkedIn, it is never advisable to hit them up through in-mail with business propositions. Like any good relationship, you need to take time to build it. Trust must be established. Don’t spam your new “friends”! Never ever spam them through in-mail.)
  2. Browse gurus’ websites – Want to know where an esteemed mentor is “hiding” online? If you know the names of your favorite experts, it’s a safe bet they’ll each have a website. Do a quick search to find their URLs. Search engines are so savvy now that you can do all types of searches.  For example, lots of people search by asking full questions. You can do that, too.Once you’ve identified sites of a few interesting experts whose information you really enjoy and can learn from, dig around. It won’t take long to locate their social media buttons. Like them, follow them and link with them. Then head over to their pages to get some conversations started. You’d be surprised by how many of these high-level experts actually interact on their sites themselves. Of course, many have assistants, but that’s to be expected. On a side note, Twitter users are very frequently the real individuals behind the curtain… even highly popular celebrities. (But beware the pretenders.)Always act with proper professional etiquette when interacting online. If you don’t act in a professional, friendly manner, the owner of the page can kick you off. They can flag you for inappropriate behavior. You don’t want that.(NOTE: These experts often have very helpful blogs and podcasts or web radio shows, too, which you can get to through their sites. Start reading and listening! Let them be a true mentor. Learn from them.)
  3. Join membership sites – Yes, yes… we have a killer membership site for training. You’ll learn everything you need to know to be a very effective Real Estate Investor. You can learn how to wholesale properties, raise private capital, how to talk to investors, how to find them and a whole lot more. We offer courses of all kinds, including Crash Courses for those who want to shorten the learning curve. But we aren’t the only membership site around.  We are, however, one of the few Real Estate Investing education membership sites you’ll find online. You should browse the Internet and see what you can find… not just for Real Estate Investing training and interaction with mentors, but anything that you want to learn. It’s amazing what you can get out of a great membership site. You can build lots of different skills. The problem is that most membership sites don’t give you access to the mentor at the helm. (Ours does, just so you know. Go back and read the first three posts in this 6-part series to learn more.)
  4. Spend quality time on YouTube – According to recent statistics, there are 300 hours of video uploaded to YouTube EVERY MINUTE! If you can’t find a few channels that interest you enough to subscribe to them… for free… I can’t help you. If you want to learn about Real Estate Investing, there are channels for that.  If you want to learn about shifting your mindset to allow success to enter your life, there are channels for that. If you want to learn quite literally anything, I’m pretty sure you can find channels (plural) for whatever you want to learn if you search deep enough.Choosing reliable sources where you can learn new skills is the issue and it’s critical to find reliable sources. In other words, just because someone puts a video up in YouTube doesn’t necessarily mean they know what they are talking about fully.Be sure to do your due diligence. Trace back to the video uploader’s roots, for example, their website. Do they have a good blog? Do they have a podcast? Are they interviewed by other experts? Can you find any articles in which they’ve been quoted for their expertise? If you want to learn from the best, you have to find the best, which takes a little research. Don’t just blindly trust that what you see is the God’s honest truth. Remember that YouTube is a marvelous marketing mechanism. It’s not just about entertainment, information and education these days. Choose wisely!

These are just a few ideas to get you further along in your entrepreneurial journey. Start with these and see where you end up!

The point is that you don’t have to pay big bucks to get a bit of mentoring. If one-on-one private coaching isn’t in your budget right now… and if participating in mastermind groups with a small set of likeminded individuals isn’t in your budget right now… that’s okay. There are alternatives in your educational path. It may take longer to get to your goal(s), but you can get a great education and lots of direction by investing the time in yourself online in the right spots.

If you haven’t read the last three posts in this 6-part series, you’re missing excellent information. In fact, this is a good example of no-cost educational opportunities brought to you by an expert who could be your mentor.
